Guide To Eating LCHF - An Overview
Certified Naturally Grown has the same Standards as certified organic products however the requirements for this certification are different. The certification requires a declaration and a commitment that each CNG member is going to do an inspection on another CNG member. It's a relatively new concept that aims to empower the local community and highlight these products to consumers.
Certified Naturally Grown products also follow the National Standard for Organic and Biodynamic Produce. These include being pesticides free, chemical fertilizers free, GMO free, radiation free, hormones free and chemicals free at any production stage. Organic products are environmental friendly and healthier which explains their global growing trend. An ‘I love Certified Naturally Grown’ logo gives the necessary standard and public recognition to your product.
The one big difference between Certifed Naturally Grown and an Organic Certification is the cost. The cost of becoming certified under the national standard and other third party certifiers is excessive for so many small local producers even though they commit to non-use of the same standards. Similarly; CNG farmers must commit to not using synthetic herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, antibiotics, hormones, or genetically modified organisms. That is why the Organic Certification is better suited to medium and larger scale operations who can afford the fees and administrative staff to handle all the paperwork.
CNG farmers are constantly improving their soil and striving to increase the sustainability of their farming operations, proving that they adhere to the same level if not more than that of the national standards.
We aim to empower these local smaller producers by offering them access to a certification with a logo, that is just as recognised but much more suitable to their type of operation and means. Furthermore improving the availability and affordability of these natural, healthy, sustainable products to the public.
